According to a blog post by outspoken 1up Editor Luke Smith, we could see a playable demo of Killzone 2 before the Halo 3 multiplayer beta test begins.
Killzone 2 shot to notoriety following its CGI showing at E3 2005 and has since gone into hiding. However, Smith points to rumours that place the game much further along in development than previously thought, noting that by now the game may well have been playable online for almost a year.
With Microsoft and Bungie’s Halo 3 taking plenty of headlines over the last few months with news of the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, it could be Killzone 2 which springs a surprise on gamers this spring. Smith says: “Expect a playable Killzone 2 demo to be released (hmm, Phil Harrison is keynoting at GDC…) before gamers are participating in the beta for Halo 3.“
Phil Harrison’s keynote will take place at GDC on Wednesday, March 7.
