The success of Killer Instinct on Xbox One has given Microsoft the confidence to return to other franchises, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios Phil Spencer has revealed.

Asked on Twitter to bring back the Viva Pinata series in order to show consumers that Microsoft cares about its other great IPs, Spencer responded:

“Success with KI was a good sign and you’ll see some more IP return.”

Spencer didn’t offer any further details.

Crackdown is heavily rumoured to be making a return to the Xbox platform, with many expecting its announcement earlier this week – that turned out to be Microsoft’s Gears of War purchase. Rare also has a number of franchises in its locker – Banjo Kazooie, Conker, Viva Pinata – which fans would love to see return in some form.
