Gamers should keep the Nintendo 3DS still when playing in order to experience the best 3D effect, Kid Icarus director Masahiro Sakurai has suggested.
Posting on Twitter earlier this week in response to fan questions, Sakurai said that the new handheld should be kept still, with the 3D visuals only achieved when the player’s eyes are in a set position. He said that should the 3DS be moved too much there could be problem seeing 3D.
Exactly how still the handheld must be kept isn’t clear.

While the 3DS has a slider to allow users to adjust the 3D effect to their eyes/preference, the idea of having to keep the handheld still while playing does sound a little worrying.
We’re sure most gamers keep their current handhelds pretty still when playing, but some movement is natural. While this isn’t an issue on a 2D system, should small movements result in a loss of 3D it could become quite irritating if the effect comes and goes during gaming sessions.
