Namco Bandai Games today announced the autumn 2009 European release of Katamari Forever for PS3.

The game will feature the largest collection of stages, modes, songs, and cousins to date, plus remixed classic Katamari Damacy tunes, a brand-new storyline, multiple new visual effects and 1080p graphics.

In Katamari Forever players will use the Prince’s Katamari to roll up everyday objects. The more objects the Prince rolls up, the larger his Katamari becomes, allowing him to roll up even bigger items.

All the stars have disappeared from the night sky and the King of All Cosmos has fallen into a coma. The Prince must use his rolling skills to re-create the absent celestial bodies, save his royal father and restore order to the Cosmos.

New to the PS3 game will be a selection of graphical styles: Wood style uses warm sepia tones to give stages a wooden feel while Comic creates thick black outlines on every object, filled in with deep, rich colours.

Katamari Forever will also contain local cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Players can choose their favourite cousin and play together or take on friends and family in heated competition.
