Keita Takahashi, the brains behind Katamari Damacy, is helping to develop a new casual MMO titled Glitch, according to Gamasutra.

Partnering with developer Tiny Speck, a studio founded by Flickr developers, Takahashi will aid in creating the game in Vancouver.

Tiny Speck founder Stewart Butterfield has stated in a previous interview that he hopes to incorporate the kind of social interaction of a game like bridge, explaining:

“There’s something that happens in the context of [bridge]. There’s the competition, there’s the friendly banter, there’s the out-thinking each other, and it’s just not possible outside.”

Glitch was originally slated for a spring 2011 release, however a revised released date still hasn’t been made available.
