John Romero has hinted that he’s not quite done with the FPS genre.

On Twitter the veteran developer was asked if he had given up on old school FPS games.

“Definitely not! I have plans,” he replied.

While he’s best known for his work on DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D – and less favourably, for Daikatana – Romero’s most recent game was Ravenwood Fair, a social network title.

The new game won’t see Romero returning to the failed Daikatana, noting on Twitter: “There will be no DK2.”
