A listing for Jam Sessions 2 has been spotted on Ubisoft’s US website, stating a September 29 release date.

As with the first game, Jam Sessions 2 remains an electric guitar learning tool, with each song serving a different role in advancing the players’ guitar skills and song writing abilities. By progressing through the songbook, it’s hoped that players will learn the guitar without realising they have been taught.

The game will feature a diverse line-up of guitar driven bands, including REM, Heart, The Ramones, The Clash, Doobie Brothers, Plain White-T’s, The Black Crowes, The Pixies and more. Players will be able to play using a Stratocaster, Telecaster, Acoustic, Old Electric or Les Paul.

User created content will also be a key feature of Jam Sessions 2. Players will be able to freestyle sections of featured bands’ songs and make them their own. With a push of a button, players’ created works can be added to the game’s set list and instantly converted into a playable level. A powerful multi-track song editing tool is also said to make producing high quality music easy, intuitive and fun – these songs can also be shared with friends.

The game’s product listing also states the game will include DSi features to “enhance sound effects while playing”.

There’s no word on a European release date.
