God of War director David Jaffe has delivered an early verdict on the sure to be stupendous third game in the series, calling it ‘f***ing fantastic!’.
The outspoken Jaffe, who founded PlayStation-exclusive developer Eat Sleep Play after directing PlayStation classics Twisted Metal and God of War, updated his blog to offer his thoughts on what promises to be the biggest PS3 exclusive of 2010.
“I’ll post my final thoughts on the game when I finish it (and once it’s been out a bit) but I can say now that visually and production wise, I really don’t think there has EVER been a game that has executed at this level!,” he said.
“Presentation and production wise, this is a crazy ass bar raising simply staggering game! And the execution of the story telling process? F****ing fantastic (amazing opening credits)! Amazing job all around!”
“NOTE: Not suggesting he[sic] new GOW doesn’t add and change the formula – that’s up to you to determine – I am just saying the original formula is still present as well and that is what I am talking about.”
So, thumbs up from the director of the original God of War. But what do we think? You’ll have to wait till 5pm GMT today, when the general review embargo lifts, to find out.
