NCSoft has today announced the first details of the next expansion for City of Heroes/Villains. Titled Issue 10: Invasion, the expansion focuses on the return of the Rikti.
Issue 10 begins with a World Event that spans numerous zones in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. The Rikti have returned in devastating waves and are armed with new, brutal weapons and seek to establish a beachhead on Earth. It is presumed this is to save their lost brethren and to complete what they started on their first invasion – the destruction of Earth.
The expansion will offer a host of new missions in the Rikti War Zone for level 35+. Players will meet a new contact, Levantera, who introduces the U.N. security force, Vanguard. Players will also meet Borea, who will issue several missions in the zone and will talk to the Dark Watcher to learn one of the darkest secrets of Paragon City.
For level 45-50 players, the Rikti Co-Op Task Force will be available. Lady Grey, leader of the Vanguard, will give out a mission for groups of 6-8 players with heroes and villains working together towards a common goal.
