A new Counter-Strike, titled Global Offensive, is rumoured – by E-Sports Entertainment – to focus on 5v5 competition and is being developed with an updated version of the Source engine – last used to power the 10/10 scoring Portal 2.

The updated version of the landmark 1999 Half-Life mod will allegedly feature new guns, new grenades, and a major revamp of legendary maps de_Dust and de_Aztec.

“Counter-Strike: Global Offensive… More info in the morning,” wrote the E-Sports Entertainment (ESEA) Facebook page.

Craig “Torbull” Levine, a member of the ESEA, supposedly visited Valve to assist in the development of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Will it be a free-to-play game created for the eSports crowd?
