Is The Last of Us Part 1 PC Deluxe Edition worth it?

While worth is – of course – a matter of personal taste, we can give some advice as to whether the extras are worth the additional $10 dollar (or local equivalent) outlay.

First off, it should be noted that nearly all of the additional bonuses in the Deluxe Edition are an early unlock, rather than exclusive.

This means that yes, you probably can unlock these in the game by playing through – with some things, such as Speedrun mode, usually only unlocking after you’ve completed the game once.

We’ll also point out that the upgrades such as increased reload speed and explosive arrows are nice – they don’t suddenly make the game a cakewalk to get through, even if they will make early encounters a little easier.

In fact, the game is quite methodical and slow paced early on – though there are plenty of combat encounters – to try and teach you patience for the tougher later fights.

But basically, if you’re short on time – or you just want all the fancy additions right away on your first run through, then the Deluxe Edition may be worth considering.
