Call of Duty: Strike Team, an official iOS Call of Duty title, is available to download now on the App Store.

The game (spotted by Pocket Gamer) has yet to be officially announced by Activision, but according to its description offers an “an all-new, first-person and third-person Call of Duty experience built from the ground up for mobile and tablet devices”.

Set in the year 2020, Strike Team sees the US at war with an unknown enemy with players able to switch between first and third-person perspectives at almost any time. The screens suggest that it could play out similarly to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Strike Force missions.

The game is said to feature a full campaign mode and a wave-based Survival Mode – which sounds a lot like Modern Warfare’s Spec Ops Survival. There doesn’t appear to be any form of multiplayer.

Call of Duty: Strike Team will set you back £4.99 and is compatible with iOS 4S, iPad 2 and newer iOS devices. Head through the link to take a look at the first screenshots.

Strike Team’s release comes a year after VideoGamer.com revealed that Activision had a major Call of Duty title in development for mobile platforms.

VideoGamer.com has contacted Activision for further information.
