Upcoming third-person shooter Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will include a brand new single-player Fragile Alliance Arcade Mode.

The mode, which we asked IO director Karsten Lund about after noticing it on the game’s menu screen during a presentation last month, is described as a “single-player campaign”.

Fragile Alliance was considered one of the more successful elements of the controversial Kane & Lynch. The competitive eight-player heist mode was great because you could stab other players in the back while trying to escape with the most cash.

While the online Fragile Alliance returns in Kane & Lynch 2, a mode Lund describes as “bigger, better and stronger than ever”, the Arcade Mode lets you play it on your own with bots.

“We have an opportunity to play Fragile Alliance as a single-player campaign,” Lund told VideoGamer.com.

“We can go in with eight bots, and all the rules are running at the same time in all the modes. So you can try it first and get to know the maps and get good at the rules, but also there are competitive elements, a leaderboard, and you can battle your friends to see who can do the most heists in a certain amount of time. So you have a new entry into the world of Fragile Alliance. It is an arcade version of Fragile Alliance.”

This time around Fragile Alliance won’t be the only online multiplayer mode. Lund teased more multiplayer modes he reckons will be the bees knees.

“The multiplayer team has been working with a few new game modes that are equally as unique as Fragile Alliance,” he said.

“But we’re going to get back to that at a later event, because it’s huge. I played the latest build recently and my adrenaline went crazy!”
