After an ongoing legal battle against Interplay over the development of a Fallout MMO, Bethesda has won and now retains all rights to the Fallout brand.

A cash settlement of $2 was agreed on in court by both parties last month. The two publishers have spent years scrapping over rights to the Fallout brand.

In exchange for $2m, Interplay has given up the rights to publish any games based on the Fallout brand, alongside the rights to sell both Fallout merchandise and the series’ original games.

This news comes after a report earlier in the month that stated the Fallout MMO lawsuit had reached a settlement, but no word had been given at the time detailing what this settlement entailed.

Bethesda has yet to state whether it plans to now make a Fallout MMO itself.

This story is a combined effort from Martin and Emily after an hilarious error by James led to both both writers producing their own report on the story. Everyone involved laughed for at least three seconds.
