According to unnamed Kotaku sources, there’s only one thing preventing much of the Infinity Ward development team from walking out – the promise of owed royalty payments.

Sources suggest that publisher Activision is delaying the payment of these royalties, and with every Infinity Ward staffer in-line for a hefty bonus, no one wants to leave and miss out. It’s also rumoured that the staff have been on regular or worse salaries, with Activision promising large royalty payments to compensate.

With studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella currently suing Activision, claiming the publisher hasn’t paid their employees what “they have rightfully earned”, it’s understood that morale at the Modern Warfare 2 studio is extremely low.
