Isometric horror puzzle adventure In Nightmare has been announced as coming to PlayStation consoles from March 29, 2022.

The game puts you in the shoes of an unnamed boy who wakes up to find himself in a world of nightmares created from his own memories. You’ve got to help him sneak past these literal inner demons, solve fiendish puzzles and help him overcome his fears and escape the nightmare.

Here’s the blurb: “Experiencing effects of a broken family, and the heartache it brings, a young child will escape reality into a dark, whimsical world created from his own memories. This sets him on his journey to uncover what truly lies within. Having suffered in reality, his past trauma turns into terrifying monsters that want to keep him in an eternal nightmare.”

You won’t be entirely alone, thankfully. The boy is accompanied by his spirit guide taking the form of a butterfly to help guide you. At points you’ll be able to control this dream spirit as a decoy to lure enemies away. They can also help detect invisible pathways, and help you be aware of the monsters ahead.

There’s definitely a creepy atmosphere to proceedings, which you can see in the trailer for yourself down below. In Nightmare arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 from March 29, 2022.
