It’s been confirmed by Nintendo, having first appearing in Nintendo Power magazine, that Impossible Mission will be available to buy and download from the Wii Shop Channel.

Wii users are used to being able to download games, but previously these have only been from the Virtual Console. It’s also possible to download an application in the form of the Wii Web Browser.

In Impossible Mission players take on the role of a secret agent who must stop the evil genius Professor Elvin Atombender who has been tampering with National Security computers. It’s now a race against time and you’ll have to penetrate his base and recover parts of the system password, all while avoiding deadly robots.

The game’s scheduled for release in the summer and is also coming out on PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo DS.
