Marvel Rivals has engaged its player base with its vivid lineup of Marvel heroes and a growing collection of cosmetic skins that allow fans to customize their favorite characters. From Spider-Man’s Japanese folklore-inspired Spider-Oni to Luna Snow’s K-pop-infused Nolaehaneun Manyeo, the game’s skins, which are frequently based on Marvel Comics and the MCU, have been a big appeal.

The Hellfire Gala in Season 2 included mutant-themed cosmetics, and partnerships with famed artist Peach Momoko have given her mythical “Demon Days” aesthetic to heroes such as Psylocke and Peni Parker. These skins, which combine traditional Japanese designs with Marvel’s iconic characters, have increased interest and strengthened the game’s connection to its comic book roots.

However, fans have been disappointed by The Punisher’s absence from the spotlight. Despite his popularity and involvement in the game, Frank Castle’s cosmetic options are limited to simple comic-inspired designs such as the Marvel 2099 and Thunderbolts versions. Players have expressed a wish for bolder, grittier skins, such as a trench-coated classic or a War Machine-inspired design, believing the vigilante’s potential is underutilized. However, new leaks have pointed out that new skins are coming for the ignored character.

Marvel Rivals leak reveals The Punisher is getting a Peach Momoko makeover with new skins

Marvel Rivals plans to release a highly anticipated Peach Momoko-designed skin for The Punisher in June 2025, corresponding with the release of Marvel Rivals: Ignite #1 comic book one-shot. This skin from Momoko’s unique Japanese folklore-inspired collection reimagines Frank Castle in a striking design that combines his rough persona with cultural richness.

The costume, which includes black stone-like armor and a broad Japanese Kasa hat, combines traditional Japanese inspirations while retaining The Punisher’s threatening edge. Momoko’s approach, as she noted, combines parts of the character’s indigenous culture with Japanese artistry to create visually striking and distinct clothing.

The skin’s release is part of a larger partnership between Marvel Rivals and Momoko, who has previously created amazing designs for Spider-Man, Peni Parker, Luna Snow, and Hela. This Punisher skin, which was teased with Hela’s, is rumored to release around the comic’s June 11 premiere, presumably signifying the start of Season 3.

Fans have speculated that Momoko’s fine details and the skin’s prominence in promotional materials, including variant covers for titles such as Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell, indicate that it could be a legendary cosmetic.

This release not only expands Marvel Rivals’ cosmetic range, but it also strengthens its relationship to Marvel’s comic universe by highlighting Momoko’s creative work. Players are excited for the skin’s in-game debut, expecting it to boost The Punisher’s presence in the fast-paced hero shooter.
