A Horizon Zero Dawn sequel seems more likely than ever as a new job opportunity at Guerrilla Games mentioned that the developer has a Horizon project in the pipeline.

The eagle-eyed games radar spotted the reference among a cluster of job openings at the studio. This one seeks a Technical Vegetation Artist who would work on ‘the creation of vegetation assets that are used to dress the game world.’ It also says that the environment art team at Guerilla is split into four groups who are ‘dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon.’

Not only this, but the Technical Vegetation Artist would be responsible for the smooth integration of ‘narrative, quest, and design requirements’ and would have experience with creating an ‘immersive world with industry-benchmark graphics.’ All of this appears to point to the existence of a new Horizon Zero Dawn game, a possibility that its developer has been quite coy about.

Fortunately, voice actors aren’t so self-effacing. Janina Gavankar – who played Tatai in the Frozen Wilds expansion – said that there was a Horizon sequel in the works at the Star Wars Celebration. 'It's incredible, wait 'til you see the sequel. You're gonna die – I know some secrets! – you're gonna die,’ she enthused.

Last summer, Guerilla Games almost doubled the size of its development team and moved into a bigger space so that it could deliver games on a shorter development cycle. If the new Horizon game is a next-generation title, it would require as many people as possible to create it and take advantage of that PlayStation 5special sauce’. Of course, this is all conjecture at the moment because neither developer nor publisher have confirmed a new Horizon entry.

Horizon Zero Dawn is out now for PlayStation 4.
