Honkai Star Rail isn’t out until next week, but the new free-to-play RPG from Genshin Impact developer Hoyoverse has already blitzed past the 10 million user mark thanks to pre-registrations from eager fans.

The game’s official Twitter account declared that it had reached the milestone over the weekend, letting them know about some cool rewards they can get for logging their interest in the upcoming game. They include a Star Rail Pass x20 and a 4-star character Serval. To add some honey to the pot, the team’s also offering a $100 gift card to those who retweet the post.

The Star Rail of the title refers to a futuristic interplanetary rail system, that players will travel on their journey. Along the way, they’ll follow a path set by the Aeons and discover new civilisations. Unlike Genshin, combat is turn-based, but it’ll feature a similar gacha feature like its more well-known sibling. You’ll also be able to pick from a range of characters using the familiar Star ranking system – including Gepard who you can see a new trailer for below.

The game is actually part of the Honkai Impact series as the fourth game – however, it’s set in an alternate universe, so no prior knowledge of the series is required before you start playing the game. It’s not the only new game incoming from Hoyoverse either – with Zenless Zone Zero also currently on the way from the studio.

Honkai Star Rail currently has its release date set for April 26, 2023 on PC as well as on mobile platforms Android and iOS. A PlayStation 5 & PlayStation 4 release is also on the cards, just like Genshin Impact – although a specific date for that has not yet been set.
