There will “definitely be [studio] collaboration” in the future of the Homefront franchise, THQ senior VP of core studios Dave Davis revealed during a studio head roundtable at GDC.

“Wherever the talent is, we will have our studios,” Davis told Joystiq, but admitted that “Manhattan is an incredibly expensive place.”

David also explained that New York doesn’t feature a “talent pool” from which studios can be grown, noting that “most of the people we have there are imported to NYC”.

“When finishing Homefront, we had about 10-11 people who helped ship the original Homefront. And that was talent that we got from Montreal that we couldn’t get anywhere else,” Davis said.

He added: “We’re trying to do the best thing for the product and the best thing for the studio, and going forward there will definitely be collaboration.”

Whether this means Homefront creator, New York-based Kaos, will be relocated at the publisher’s Montreal base remains to be seen.

Homefront will be released March 18 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
