Home Sweet Home, the survival horror title steeped in Thai mythology, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just in time for Halloween. PlayStation VR support is also available for the PS4 version of the game.

Developed by Mastiff, Home Sweet Home was originally released on PC last year, and takes the form of a first-person survival horror romp starring a chap named Tim, who inexplicably wakes up in a derelict building after a night of mourning the loss of his wife at home.

Naturally, Tim's a bit confused as to how and why he's ended up there, and begins searching the place for a means of escape. That's easier said than done, though, as he's quickly on the run from a bunch of malevolent spirits.

As mentioned, Home Sweet Home is largely inspired by Thai lore and myth, with players having to rely on their wits to survive as Tim doesn't have any weapons to fend off his enemies with.

'We are very excited to be working with Mastiff in order to bring the dark, Thai-inspired world of Home Sweet Home to consoles,' commented publisher Yggdrazil Group's Saroot Tubloy. 'The game's real-world lore and mythology is sure to captivate and intrigue players, while its brooding narrative keeps them clinging to the edge of their seat.'

Home Sweet Home is due out on October 9 as a digital download and will come to brick-and-mortar retailers exclusively in the US on October 16.
