Speaking at the Develop conference in Brighton, Sony’s Peter Edward has revealed that the platform holder’s Home service on PlayStation 3 now has seven million registered users – three million of whom are in Europe.
However, of the 20 million registered PSN accounts, Edward said that only around 25-30% return to Home more than once, with user interest in the service rapidly fading due to a lack of content – an area which Sony is currently working to improve upon.
Edward also noted that these seven million registered users have downloaded six million pieces of merchandise – some of which was free – and confirmed that Home is “making money”.
