Characters and a modern day LA setting have been revealed by a Hollywood casting call for what is believed to be Rockstar Games’ next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Details of Rockstar’s plans for the inevitable new entry in the series have been nonexistent, but the discovery of a casting call appears to offer some insight into the location and characters we’ll explore and encounter.

Some of the characters listed include:

Mitch Hayes: 38. Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humour.

Miguel Gonzalez: 25. Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut

Clyde: 23. Moronic, almost inbred and creepy white trash hillbilly. Very naïve but in a creepy it’s only incest sort of way.

Mrs Avery: Neurotic soccer mom, home maker, 48, anxious and addled on pain killers. Very angry at neighbour MRS Bell.

Mrs Bell: Swinger, and mellow Californian divorcee. 45. Ugly but comfortable with self.

You can find additional character profiles on the casting call page.

The casting call refers to the project as Rush, presumably a codename. Superannuation spotted a link between the name ‘Rush’ and Rockstar Games, citing a September Tweet by professional wrestler and actor Robert Esparza: “Got body scanned for my role in the video game ‘Rush’, coming out on Rockstar Games.”

Put the Rockstar link together with a cast of characters which fit with GTA’s previous styling and you get a very believable rumour.
