Hollow Knight, the celebrated Metroidvania actioner from developer Team Cherry, is heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in spring 2019.

Originally released on PC and Nintendo Switch, the bug-bashing title combines hack-'n-slash style combat with non-linear gameplay, with players able to poke around an interconnected world rich with secrets, meaty boss battles, and fully upgradable abilities.

So yeah, it's your typical Metroidvania romp, but made all the more memorable thanks to its dark, surreal world and strangely compelling lead.

We bloody loved it on the Switch, so it's definitely worth a punt if you feel like waiting for the PS4 and Xbox One release.

Hollow Knight will be released as a digital title and at brick-and-mortar retailers.
