HMV at 150 Oxford street, the largest music shop in the world has closed for good.

The store was opened by Sir Bob Geldof back on October 22, 1986. The 60,000 sq ft store will become home to Sports Direct in the spring.

Oxford Street shoppers will now find HMV’s flagship store at No.363.

HMV was saved from total collapse back in April by Hilco, ensuring 141 stores remained open and 2,500 employees were kept in work.
