Hitman’s latest title update will improve the quality of supersampling filtering on PS4 Pro and PC, Io Interactive has said, “to prevent the image from appearing blurry”.
The new title update is scheduled to roll out across all formats later today, and introduces the new ‘Holiday Hoarders’ DLC, a free Christmas mission that sees Agent 47 targeting two robbers attempting to steal Christmas presents.
Supersampling is a technique used to render the game at a higher resolution before downsampling it to a lower resolution, resulting in reduced aliasing and greater image quality.
The update also fixes issues with the PS4 Pro controller (aka DualShock V2) which had prevented it from being recognised correctly when used on PC, and removes the option to pull enemies out of windows or off balconies when hanging beneath them.
“There was a known issue for this move when it was introduced in our November update,” says IO. “It will be re-introduced with a game update in January when it is working as intended.”
The update will come in at around 2.5GB on PS4, 1.2GB on Xbox One and 1.3GB on PC, and is due to roll out at around midday today.
January’s update, meanwhile, will roll out around the same time as the first season’s disc release on January 31.
