IO Interactive has announced that more Hitman content is on the horizon, but it isn’t season 2.

As well as 10 new Featured Contracts, the Master Scarecrow Challenge Pack arrives on October 13. This introduces five new challenges to the Colorado map, which upon completion, will unlock an item you can use across the entire game.

Later this month 10 player-chosen Featured Contracts will also come to the game, curated by Hitman speedrunner Hatch.

October 24 appears to be a biggie, though, as IO has said ‘That’s the date when we will reveal brand new content for the game.’ While the studio isn’t revealing much on what exactly this is just yet, community manager Travis said ‘we want to clarify before then; this upcoming content is not “Season 2”.’

After tumultuous May that saw Square Enix drop the developer, IO Interactive announced that it was an independent studio in May, and retained the rights to the Hitman franchise. While some hopes will be dashed that this isn’t news on a season 2, it does seem to be substantial. Time will tell.
