Squanch Games has announced it has delayed the launch of its off-kilter sci-fi comedy shooter High on Life.
The game’s official Twitter account broke the news to fans in the studio’s trademark irreverent style. “The good news: High On Life is still coming in 2022!†it said.
“The team at Squanch Games is working hard towards developing the best gaming experience to hit your screens, and a little extra time to squash some bugs never hurts.â€

“With that in mind,†they continued. “Our new launch date is December 13, 2022.†The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. It’ll also be on Xbox Game Pass from Day One.
To make up for the delay, the team’s also put out another animated short related to the game. If you’re a fan of the Rick & Morty interdimensional cable skits you’ll probably enjoy it, though it doesn’t tell us much about the game itself.
High on Life is a first person shooter that sees you become a reluctant alien bounty hunter after your girlfriend is kidnapped by aliens who use humans as drugs, as you do.
It comes from the minds of the studio led by Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. Ergo, expect plenty of their trademark oddball humour, including the ability to talk to your guns.

Meanwhile, Rick & Morty themselves are just about to debut imminently in Season One of Warner Bros brawler MultiVersus.
