Devil May Cry 5 is reportedly in development, and series creator Hideki Kamiya has added his two pence as to how he feels Capcom could take the next chapter in the celebrated hack-‘n-slash franchise.

Writing on Twitter, Kamiya-san, who fronted the original Devil May Cry and also cut his teeth on the likes of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, said that Dante’s next demon-killing adventure should take a leaf out of God of War’s book. He suggests Capcom may plump for a ‘full model change’ and perhaps move away from its anime-inspired roots.

‘Instead of being an anime-style hack ‘n’ slash, maybe Capcom will turn DMC5 into a realistic, cinematic action game,’ he mused (via DualShockers), before extolling the new God of War’s eyeball-popping visuals.

Devil May Cry 5 is hotly-tipped to be revealed at E3 in June following previous reports that the game would be showcased at PSX 2017. In the meantime, there’s always Devil May Cry HD Collection to keep you busy, which hits PS4 and Xbox One in March. Check out the latest stylish screenshots for the bundle here.
