Although Tango Gameworks has often been known for creating thrilling titles such as The Evil Within and its sequel, it seems that they wanted to create a lighter and more upbeat experience this time around. Based on what’s been displayed in the showcase, though, it looks like the celebrated developers may have a hit on their hands.
Most of the in-game scenes that were displayed through the preview were reminiscent of other similar titles such as Metal: Hellsinger, Devil May Cry, and Sunset Overdrive. Throughout the game, players will be able to take control of the main protagonist named Chai, a victim of a weird corporate experiment, while his robot cat companion, 808, helps him keep the beat throughout.
Chai will also be helped out by his friends, Peppermint and Macaron, who each have a distinct set of skills and abilities during different stages of the game as he seeks to wreak havoc on the sinister Vanderlay Technologies. If you want to see the colorful characters and unique design of the Hi-Fi Rush world, you can check out the trailer for yourself below.
With the exciting new title now released on the aforementioned platforms, players can finally rock out with Chai and his friends. Game Pass subscribers can now simply download it to start playing. If you aren’t subscribed to Microsoft’s video game service, you’ll have to purchase the game first.
