Sony and Naughty Dog debuted the first gameplay footage of The Last of Us: Part II during its E3 press event, with 19-year-old Ellie taking centre stage as the lead character.
We catch up with the potty-mouthed heroine in a wooded area as she stealthily dispatches foes out of sight, before getting into a ruck after being spotted. What follows is a brutal combat sequence with guns, gore, and bad language.
Evidently Naughty Dog isn't afraid of a little of the red stuff, as one poor sod gets disemboweled in front of an unseen Ellie, while in another scene, we see Ellie nearly decapitate an enemy after attempting to batter here with a massive hammer.
The Last of Us: Part II is due out exclusively on PlayStation 4, though a release date has yet to be announced.
