Marvel Rivals has had players on their toes with NetEase offering a continuous stream of hero upgrades to fine-tune the game’s ever-changing meta. The 6v6 hero shooter depends on its broad roster, and devs have taken an active approach to balance, adjusting abilities and attributes to ensure that no single hero or style reigns for long.

Season 1’s Eternal Night Falls featured powerhouses like Invisible Woman and Human Torch, raising disputes about their effectiveness, while previous patches reduced synergies like the triple-support meta stack and boosted underperformers like Groot.

Now, a fresh patch scheduled for March 6, 2025, is ready to shake up the hero meta once more as leaks suggest a nerf to Human Torch’s blazing dominance as well as improvements to other underrated heroes. If you’re looking for all the hero nerfs and buffs coming in the update, we’ve got you covered right here.

Nerfed Characters

Human Torch

Human Torch is the most affected hero with this update as two of his abilities have received adjustments which will reduce the character’s effectiveness in the heat of battle. First up is the Flaming Meteor dive where the character dives towards the ground, dealing damage to enemies and detonating any Flame Fields hit.

Earlier, he used to trap enemies with the dive inside the walls of Flame Fields each time, however, the current adjustment fixes it, meaning his enemies won’t be trapped anymore. Second adjustment has been made to his Pyro Prison ability which will now disappear once he’s defeated in a match. This now fixes the issue where his flame fields were still visible even after his elimination, which constantly dealt damage to enemies.

The Punisher

The Punisher’s ultimate ability has received a fix where he kept firing missiles from his barrage during a network lag or slower ping. This exploit was used by a bunch of players in quick play and competitive lobbies to win matches. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to use it anymore.

Jeff The Land Shark

Jeff’s team-up ability with Luna Snow has received a fix where earlier his Frozen Spitballs used to deal extra damage to enemies and had a higher range of effect. With the patch, this bug has been fixed, meaning it will revert back to the damage and range intended when the ability is used.

Buffed Characters

Loki

Two of Loki’s abilities have been properly fixed and have received a buff that were glitched with the Season 1.5 update. First, when using Loki’s ultimate ability, the UI will not disappear anymore, meaning you’ll fully be able to see all the abilities available at your disposal.

Second, his Regeneration Domain ability will now properly grant you healing effects when you overlap it again and re-enter the ability.

Hela

Using Hela’s ultimate was extremely annoying to some players when they used it after the Season 1.5 update as it used to launch them upwards. With the upcoming update, this issue has now been fixed and she’ll also be properly detected near mission vehicles while completing them during a match.

Wolverine

Wolverine’s ultimate ability is truly a nightmare for his enemies as it launches them up and slashes them in a single blow. However, recent bugs caused his enemies to get jump boosts, thus avoiding his ruthless attacks. Now that bug has been fixed and once again Wolverine will be able to prey on his enemies in his powerful style.

Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock’s ultimate ability truly depends upon his and his team’s positioning. However, if he failed to execute his ult, it used to completely disappear and his energy for recharging his ult would be lost. But thanks to the March 6 update, if his ult fails near cliff edges, 50% energy will be properly refunded, meaning you can rack it up again and use it to resurrect your teammates.

Peni Parker

While Peni is a star Vanguard, she easily slips from her position and is often thrown away by enemy abilities like Namor’s ultimate. When he uses his ult, Peni often slips from her position and is thrown to the side. This issue has now been fixed, meaning when Peni is down, she can use her SP//DR suit once again to blast Namor out of the battlefield.
