Arrowhead has been hyping their upcoming patch. This is the first part of a major revamp to Helldivers 2 in an effort to give fans exactly what they want following a string of bad choices to balancing. The early signs are very promising, and Helldivers 2 fans are in love with a newly announced 625% buff to a very popular gun.
The next update is set to launch on September 17th so we only have less than a week remaining until we receive our buffs. So far Arrowhead has shared a massive buff to the flamethrower, and the CCO has shared an encouraging message to the community that has us convinced the developer are finally understanding what made specific weapons and tools so appealing before getting unceremoniously gutted to death.
The flamethrower is receiving a buff, and we also know about the Autocannon and Heavy Machine Gun. Now Arrowhead has shared specific details about a buff for the railgun, and to say fans are excited would be an understatement.
Helldivers 2 railgun is receiving 625% buff
On the official Helldivers Discord channel, community manager Baskinator has been sharing details about one incoming buff per day. Just recently they shared specific details about how the railgun is being restored to its former glory.
The community manager revealed that the durable damage of the railgun “will be increased from 60 to 225 damage”. As if that wasn’t enough, “fully overcharging damage will be increased from 150% to 250%,” too.
This is absolutely massive. Fans have for the long time complained about weapon nerfs, so it truly feels as though Arrowhead are now swinging in the opposite direction with all of these huge buffs.
Reacting to the announcement, the Helldivers 2 community is unanimously screaming at the top of their lungs, “We’re so back”. There are some naysayers saying the game’s name should be changed to “HellEasy,” but most of the community are happy about the extreme buffs that are on the way.
One user pointed out that this is a 625% buff. Their comment explains, “So base damage is up from 60 to 225. The multiplier is 3.75. With the charge the base damage went up 150 percent and now it’s 250. So the max previously was 90 and now its 562.5 THEY F***ING INCREASED IT BY 625%. I WANT WHAT THEY’RE SMOKING IN THERE CUZ WE ARE BACK BABY”.
