Heist, the criminal action game originally announced in March 2007, has been cancelled, Codemasters has confirmed.
The move comes as no surprise – little has been seen of the title since 2007.
In a statement given to IGN, Codemasters said: “After a much extended development period, Heist has been terminated as a project and removed from our release schedule.
“Codemasters is focusing its future portfolio on high quality titles that will, in the majority, be developed and produced by our internal studios.”
Heist was supposed to see players take charge of a group of renegade criminals as they rob, steel and shoot their way throughout San Francisco, circa 1969. It was in development at California-based studio inXile entertainment.
