A movie of Sony’s PS3 game Heavy Rain is being fast-tracked, according to a report on Variety.
The game to movie adaptation is being written by Deadwood executive producer David Milch. Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne are producing through Unique Features.
“David Milch’s incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on ‘Heavy Rain,'” commented Shaye.
We love Heavy Rain, crowning it our 2010 game of the year.
A movie version of Heavy Rain will be interesting as it will obviously lose the crucial element of interaction that made the game so engaging. Whether or not the story is good enough to stand alone as a linear tale remains to be seen.
