Rock Band developer Harmonix has announced A City Sleeps, a “stylish, music-driven shoot ’em up” coming to PC and Mac this October.
Described by IGN as Harmonix’s “anime take on Geometry Wars”, A City Sleeps is a twin-stick shooter that follows Poe, the youngest member of an ancient clan of dream exorcists who are able to “enter the minds of sleeping hosts to rid their dreams of demons”.
Harmonix says that level design has been built around songs, with music driving enemy spawns, movement and bullet patterns. The end result, the developer claims, is an “utterly unique audio-experience that only Harmonix can provide”.
