Hotly anticipated FPS Halo: Reach – what will be 2010’s biggest game according to Microsoft – is not a Natal title, developer Bungie has revealed.

It had been speculated that the game would support Microsoft’s exciting motion sensing technology following the publication of a screenshot which showed an off-centre cross-hair.

However, in a post on its website, Bungie set the record straight.

“Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind,” said the developer.

According to Bungie, the cross-hair position was the result of a good old fashioned bug.

“Sorry folks, you won’t be perpetually leaning to the left nor will you be navigating multiple cross-hairs for various purposes. Truth be told, it’s just a good old fashioned bug. Bug #15163 to be exact.”

So there you have it motion sensing sceptics. Time to sheath those pitch forks.

The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will begin in spring 2010, ahead of the game’s autumn 2010 release. Access to the beta is granted exclusively through Halo 3: ODST.
