A playable demo for Microsoft and Bungie’s Halo: Reach has been released for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace – you’ll need to wait until next week if you don’t have Gold.

The demo – which arrives some seven months after the game hit stores – offers a chance to see what all the fuss was about. You get to play through the ‘Long Night of Solace’ mission from the single player campaign, plus take part in competitive multiplayer on the ‘Powerhouse’ map and some cooperative action in a Firefight mission.

In addition, Microsoft has announced a one week price reduction on the Games on Demand version of Halo: Reach – now available at the not so bargain-priced £39.99.

Halo: Reach is great – as you’ll know by checking out our Halo: Reach review – so anyone yet to give the game a try should download the demo now. However, don’t pay £39.99 for the Games on Demand version, but pick up the the retail version for under £20 online.
