Microsoft has announced that the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will begin in spring 2010, ahead of the game’s autumn 2010 release.

Access to the beta is granted exclusively through Halo 3: ODST.

A new trailer, featuring a section of the game’s opening cinematic, has also been released, offering fans their first look at Spartan III and Noble Team, a squad of battle-hardened Spartan soldiers who will take a heroic stand to defend the planet Reach, its people and secrets against the Covenant.

You’ll find the trailer in all its HD splendour right here.
