Halo: Reach will do away with the need to increase the difficulty level when playing cooperatively with friends, Bungie community director Brian Jarrard has told Kotaku.

In previous cooperative Halo experiences the enemy AI remained the same no matter how many players were hunting them down, forcing players to up the difficulty manually. In Reach the difficulty will scale automatically with the number of players.

Jarrard also explained that this means playing on Legendary in four-player co-op will present players with the most cunning and devilish enemies in a Halo title.

Halo: Reach is scheduled for release on September 14 only for Xbox 360.
