Reputable Halo leaker, Leaks_Infinite, reports that they can “definitely confirm” a Halo Combat Evolved Remake is coming to PS5 and Xbox with improved “modern gameplay mechanics”. They also claim that it will have a sprint, and they are of the belief that its gameplay will be similar to a new unannounced Halo multiplayer game.

This isn’t the first time rumors of a Halo Combat Evolved Remake have surfaced as earlier this year it was reportedly pegged for release in 2026. It’s unknown if it will be available for PS5 from day one, and Leaks_Infinite is also unsure whether it’ll be announced for PS5 at the grand reveal.

It’s rumored that the Combat Evolved remake will be announced at the Halo World Championships on October 24th. Other rumored announcements include the multiplayer title as well as potentially a new mainline installment.

Xbox Exclusives Coming to PS5

Even though Halo is Microsoft’s flagship IP, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it end up on PS5. This is because a myriad of former Xbox console exclusives have already joined PlayStation with even more on the way.

It all started with the likes of Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. Forza Horizon 5 also joined and became the highest-selling PS5 game of the year.

This summer, PlayStation users got to experience Gears of War for the very first time with Gears of War Reloaded, and now PlayStation loyalists can look forward to Microsoft Flight Simulator joining PS5 in December. However, it hasn’t been completely one-sided as Helldivers 2 joined Xbox the same day Gears of War landed on PlayStation.

Nothing else is confirmed beyond Microsoft Flight Simulator, but there are persistent rumors about Bethesda’s Starfield joining PlayStation eventually. There’s also a former Xbox console exclusive included in the PS Plus October 2025 Extra and Premium games lineup.
