In a blog post on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries writer Jeff Easterling said that the Halo developer won’t be revealing any new information on a new entry in the series ‘for quite some time.’

Easterling spoke about the illusive Halo 6 that some people were expecting to show up during Microsoft’s big Xbox media briefing at E3, saying that fans should quell their excitement for the time-being.

‘While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time,’ 343’s Easterling stated to the sound of Master Chief fans’ hearts breaking around the globe. ‘And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.’

An expansion to Halo Wars 2 was announced during E3, which will be available this November, but the studio was quick to tell fans prior to the show that there wouldn’t be anything on Halo 6, or the rumoured Halo 3 Anniversary edition.

So, don’t get your hopes up around Gamescom or PAX time, either.
