Halo 4’s Crimson Map Pack is available to download now from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
The first map pack for November’s top sci-fi shooter contains three new maps, eight new achievements and a new game mode called Extraction.
Extraction sees two teams of Spartans going up against each other while attempting to extract various pieces of data scattered around the map.
Once a team has found the data, it must defend its location from the opposing team until the assets have been extracted. Successfully extract it and your team will win a point. Fail, and it’s the attacking team who’ll score.
Meanwhile, the three new maps – Wreckage, Harvest and Shatter – take players to an agricultural planet and a UNSC factory. Head through here for more details on each map, or head through to Xbox.com to queue the pack for download.
The Crimson Map Pack costs 800 Microsoft Points, or is available for free to users who have purchased a War Games Map Pass, or registered their code found in Halo 4’s Limited Edition.
Two further map packs – the Majestic Map Pack and the Castle Map Pack – are expected to launch during February and April 2013.
