There’s no question that the launch of Halo 3 will be the gaming event of the year and this day just got a little closer with confirmation that Halo 3 is now complete.

After three years in the making, Microsoft has announced that the final chapter in the Halo trilogy has been released to manufacturing in preparation for the game’s September 25/26 launch.

This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios,” said Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios. “This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Sept. 25.

Halo 3 is expected to smash Halo 2’s record-setting $125 million opening day sales, and will likely significantly boost sales of the Xbox 360 console.

Pro-G got to sample some of the Halo 3 campaign mode at Games Convention last week, our thoughts on which you can find here.
