Following last week’s headline grabbing news that Halo 3 had topped the weekly Japanese video game chart, it’s back to reality for Microsoft with the game’s sales during its second week too few to register a place in the Top 30.

During its first week on release the final chapter in the Halo trilogy notched up impressive but not staggering sales of 59,000 units – a figure that on another week would have struggled to take the No.1 spot.

It appears that sales for the game were massively front-loaded with the majority of Japanese Xbox 360 gamers rushing to buy the game on day one, leaving only a trickle of sales for week two and beyond.
