Various groups of an organisation called Society of the Ancients have been staging small protests in cities to promote their belief that aliens have aided humanity’s evolution.

Keen Halo 3 fans have spotted that the placards and t-shirts of the demonstrators bare a glyph that matches one featured in a mysterious and poetic email from Microsoft asking readers to ‘look for the signs’, and used by Bungie forum administrator Adjutant Reflex as his avatar.

When approached, the protesters, who have been spotted as far apart as New York and London, claim to know nothing about Halo 3, despite being very vocal about alien life forms.

However, a link on the amateurish SOCA website detailed in the flyers the demonstrators hand out leads to an ambiguous and professional looking countdown timer that uses an otherworldly date system. Adjutant has also left cryptic forum posts featuring the glyph, and the words “this would be a good place to begin“.

After the popularity of Halo 2 viral ARG I Love Bees, fans would no doubt be delighted by a similar challenge.
