Shacknews reports that Valve representatives have confirmed that Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal will be released in the US on October 9 – pointing to an October 12 release in the UK where releases traditionally fall on a Friday.
The release date for all three platforms follows rumours that development of the PlayStation 3 versions had run into trouble and would be delayed until 2008. However, Valve’s Doug Lombardi has told Shacknews that development on each platform is progressing well.
The new titles will be available from Valve’s Steam service (PC only) or at retail as part of The Orange Box set. This will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PC and will include the three new titles, plus the original Half-Life 2 and Episode One.
