Daybreak Games has released the largest update of 2017 for its arena shooter, H1Z1: King of the Kill. This H1Z1 is technically not the same game as the H1Z1 that changed its name to Just Survive, but they are made by the same company. So that’s nice and easy.

The Combat Update introduces the Hellfire 4-6 submachine gun, while also making big changes to the game’s combat movement and gunplay mechanics. This update follows a letter to the community from the H1Z1 General Manager, Anthony Castoro, who said that, ‘This isn’t the “end all, be all” combat update. This is a foundational change to bring the basics of combat to a point where we can continue building with confidence.’

Combat in the game has been updated to increase the pace and action, by simplifying player movement. All of the guns in the game have received an adjustment to give each weapon a unique play style with improved weapon animations, recoil and ballistics. It’ll apparently make the guns more precise according to each guns specific characteristics.

The Combat Update will come with a new Skirmish mode called Weapon Roulette. In this mode, players start with a random gun and infinite ammo. They will then have to locate and acquire guns and ammo that are randomly spawned around the map. At certain points within each match, all players will have their current weapon taken away and randomly replaced with a new weapon and infinite ammo.
