Based on the original concept from gaming legend Gunpei Yokoi, the idea has been re-imagined by Lumines and Meteos creators Q Entertainment, creating new versions of the game for Nintendo DS and PSP

Gunpey is an addictive music-based puzzle game in which players must flip and move panels to connect lines inside each panel. Once a line spans the width of the screen the panels will explode, making room for further panels. Every action by the player will alter the game’s music, meaning you’ll get a different tune each time you play.

The new Nintendo DS and PSP games both feature wireless head-to-head play, plus a selection of other game modes such as Single screen, Double screen, new Break Rule and Time Attack.

Players will also find version specific extras. The PSP game features 40 skins to collect in the Challenge Mode, and players will also be able to mix two skins at a time in Double Skin Mode.

In the DS game an exclusive special attack can be used to temporarily disrupt an opponent’s game. There’s also Sound Sets and a Patternizer which can be used to create unique musical compositions, if that’s your thing.

Gunpey for the Nintendo DS and PSP are expected to arrive all over Europe in March.
